**** Student Testimonials ****
Having completed a 1 year intermediate course and 2 year diploma, I can only express this as being an inspirational and life changing course.
The training style was relaxed, supportive and comfortable, the knowledge gained was liberating and empowering and most of all the experience has taught me to become a skilled and reflective counsellor.
Very grateful for having the experience!
Amel Mohammed (Former Student)
The diploma course is interesting, challenging and thought provoking. What struck me most was how much self awareness and confidence I developed. I loved the weekend courses on Diversity and Domestic Abuse. Got me to see things from a new perspectives and gain a greater understanding of my clients and their needs.
Jennie Tylee (Former Student)
Studying at Jean Little offers an opportunity to learn and explore new skills, increase self awareness and achieve an accredited qualification. The course contents are informative and interesting and teaching style; relaxed and welcoming. I would highly recommend for anyone wishing to embark on a journey of self exploration.
Debra Lidgett (Current Diploma Student)
If you want a traditional and typical Case Work Supervisors course, look elsewhere.
No matter how experienced you think you are, the facilitator has a way of delivering the course which allows you to
look at yourself and how you deliver both counselling and casework supervision.
Not for the faint-hearted!
The Diploma Course helped me understand counselling from the psychodynamic theory, for which I will
be forever thankful. Over the years I have assisted thousands of clients to understand what counselling
is about. My on-going training and also revisiting relationship counselling for single, couples and family has
enhanced my personal development. This Diploma and ongoing training has given me the opportunity to
assist my clients to understand themselves and the opportunity to change.
Doreen Matthews (Supervisor)
I believe this course to be the most exciting and appropriate anybody could choose for a Level 4 Diploma. You will be introduced to aspects of theory of the Psychodynamic model through experiential interactions with your colleagues.
There are some unique aspects to the course, including themed weekend workshops,
eye-opening insights into human behaviour and learning about the relationship 'fits.' Role playing actual client couples allows for fun learning and to practice your counselling skills.
Expect to be challenged yourself and take responsibility for your own learning. However, also expect the help and support of the tutor with any difficulties you may encounter. Approach the course in the right way and you will never forget nor regret the experience.
Phillip Housbey (former student)
The course covers a comprehensive range of topics, that challenges and makes you reflect, as a counsellor in training and as a person. I love the approach, it is relevant and works well with the clients I work with.
Helen Groom (Former Student)
'I originally studied the Certificate in Counselling Skills course to further my communication skills for work. However, the interesting topics covered, friendly classroom atmosphere (with Annette and the other students, who come from all walks of life!) and the personal Insight I gained, I knew I couldn't miss out on doing the diploma! I found the Psychodynamic model brilliant offering many avenues in which to work with my clients. I have since decided to work as a counsellor because of these courses and I can't recommend the college enough - it's been 3 years well-spent.'
